My name is Khairah Alaine Phillips. I was born at Frye Medical Center in Hickory, North Carolina. I have lived in North Carolina my entire life. Hopefully one day I'll see what the USA has more to offer than just NC. I am currently attending Newton-Conover High School. I am a junior and I cannot wait to be a senior. I thing being a junior is the worst place to be because by the time you're a junior, you are already tired of high school and have to suffer the next upcoming year. But it isn't too bad. I have two sisters; an older and a younger sister. I am stuck in the middle, which is an awkward place to be. Having to be a younger and an older sister. Both of my sisters go to Newton-Conover High School along with me. I plan to go to college. I prefer Lenoir-Rhyne University, Gardner Webb,  or North Carolina Central University. I plan to major in music and get my Bachelor's degree in music. I want to perform and maybe be a music teacher when I get my degree. I am currently teaching myself to play the piano. Newton-Conover offers a class especially for learning piano and it is really helping me learn much quicker, considering I don't have a Baby Grand Piano at my house. I am really glad I have a class that offers this because this has never been available for me and I am really grateful I have an awesome teacher. Mrs. Fowler is my teacher and she has prepared me very well. When I first entered her class, I couldn't even name any notes if you showed me a grand staff. But now I can play the piano and read music. Site reading is hard, but it's one skill that I really need if I want to get anywhere in playing any instrument.

I hope to have fun in english class. I really don't like english; it is literally my worst subject out of any subject. But at least this time I have a teacher that is actually going to teach me something unlike my past english teachers.
